- "That's why I say! ABCD-EFG!"
- ―The end of the beatbox
The ABC Beatbox (also referred to as the ABC Song) was a beatboxing song Jerma created in early 2014 for a cancelled video idea with Ster.
Background[]
- "Ain't no friend of me!"
- ―Jerma
On April 6, 2014 during the Tip of the Hat's Day 1 charity stream for TF2, a user donated some money asking for Jerma to beatbox. One of the ToTH members requested if maybe Grandpa could sing too. Star would ask Jerma if he "got the ABCs ready". Jerma stutters for a second before telling Star to tell the chat if he could tell the ABC story. Apparently, Jerma had an idea for a video with Star once. Jerma just says one line to himself which was "ABCD-EFG Da-Da-Da! You ain't no friend of me" which Jerma thought was wicked funny and hilarious. Jerma would write a whole song around that one line however would instead do the entire alphabet. Jerma then comes into "mumble" and tells Star "This is Awful..."
Jerma originally wanted the song to be apart of a cancelled animated animation where Grandpa teaches kids the alphabet as he was a substitute teacher. However, Jerma would realize at the time all the work he had to do by "hiring someone who knew how to play the horn". Jerma had this whole "orchestra" of the song in his head for the song as well.
Beatbox Recreation[]
A few members of ToTH would request Jerma to beatbox the song. After a few minutes of talking and reading donations Jerma would begin to beatbox the song. Causing ToTH members and Star to laugh hysterically. Once finishing the song pretty much chat, Star and ToTH's cheer for Jerma.
Fan Recreation[]
On December 1, 2015 user Slood ъ would try to recreate the orchestra version of the song with horns. The song fit pretty well and would gain over 10k views since it's creation.
Trivia[]
- It is unknown why Jerma couldn't find an animator/artist as he was friends with animator/composer Blordow since circa 2005
- The song hasn't made a re-appearance since 2014.
- Jerma would make a "Train" version in another pub as well.
- The song would be brought back, however as a reboot/starting off fresh variation called "QRS".
