BaldCoin is a cryptocurrency created by Jerma, as well as an emote on his twitch channel. It is possibly related to Jerma Bucks. In the beginning of 2018, the BaldCoin economy was approaching a crash following the involvement of several institutional investors. The subsequent decentralization of the currency and lack of whales to pump its price lead many experts to conclude the currency was doomed. However, just before the crash would have occurred, the Korean market woke up, and the BaldCoin economy was saved.

The exact Origin is disputed. It is believed by some people, that the joke started in 2017 when Jerma mentioned whilst playing Red Dead Redemption (1), that he was looking into Bitcoin. Then the joke allegedly progressed when chat suggested he made his own cryptocurrency, and he came up with the name BaldCoin.[2][3] However no clips or stream-timestamps could yet be retrieved from a Red Dead Redemption stream, that would depict this process. The earliest known mention of BaldCoin is from Jerma's Zoombinis stream on 24th Nov. 2017, when he starts to talk about the different forms of crypto currency and then mentions the Name BaldCoin after asking Chat if they would get a currency he created.[4][5] The mentioned Zoombinis-stream is also the earliest result on the page search.jerma.io when searching for the term.[6][7] This is a website created by Stick, that allows you to search for specific keywords for all the sentences and words Jerma has ever spoken on stream. Moreover, "BaldCoin" was written in the official Jermacord for the very first time on November 26, 2017, only a few days after Jerma streamed Zoombinis, in the #Stream channel.[8] In summary, the origin during a RDR1 stream is very unlikely and should be considered more of an "urban legend".

A living anthropomorphism of BaldCoin was forced to fight in the Great Meme Massacre of 2018. It's unknown how the BaldCoin came to life, but regardless, it was forced to participate by Jerma.
It appears to be a glowing purple person of a somewhat plump, compact build. It has brown hair, heavily receded all the way past the crown down the back of the head. It's hair is somewhat long besides, and tied into a small ponytail. It sports a large BaldCoin logo on it's chest, designed by SammNnn.

After two long grueling rumbles, BaldCoin alone reigned victorious. Somehow, the BaldCoin's actions had a profound effect on the cryptocurrency it represents, narrowly avoiding disaster. As a result, BaldCoin was the only meme allowed to survive, and spared the horrific cruelty of the so-called Meme Funeral. For a time, BaldCoin was the only legal 2017 meme until memes were re-allowed on 02/26/2018.

- It was the only original survivor of the 2018 Kill the Meme Stream. Almost the entire rest of the memes was revived later on by Jerma.
- The Name could also be a take on Jerma's own balding process / the running gag of Chat calling Jerma bald.[9]
- The emote is used when money or wealth gets shown or referenced on stream. It's also used when someone gifts Bits.
