Do Nothing David

Do Nothing David, nicknamed David, in reality named Tannahill, is an underpaid employee at Jerma's Laundry Store, constantly subjected to verbal abuse. Despite this, he works 24/7 and serves his customers "with a smile." After hard work, he was able to appease his boss (Jerma) and was subsequently renamed Do-Darryl.

History[]

Jerma hired Tannahill for a $200 initial fee, but didn't pay him for a single day's work.^[1] Even though he was working at the cash register for free, Jerma didn't understand why Tannahill wasn't serving customers and was very upset. On his first day, Jerma threatened Tannahill with firing him if he didn't do any work, despite receiving no pay.^[2] The boss began harassing Tannahill at work, calling him an "idiot." Even Chat joined in, claiming Tannahill had a "floor-height stare" and calling him "lobotomized Andy."Jerma decided to fire Tannahill on his first day, but then realized he hadn't paid Tannahill any wages.^[3]

After correcting this error, Tannahill began serving customers, much to Jerma's surprise. However, Tannahill's job was limited to delivering finished laundry to guests who wanted to pick it up. The manager neglected his own duties, including cleaning floors, causing a customer to fall. When confronted about the accident, the manager blamed Tannahill for not working hard enough. For this reason, the manager nicknamed him "Do Nothing David."^[4]

While David was doing his job, Jerma gave David a goofy voice while he worked, making him look stupid. He also took photos of him. He gaslighted him, first saying he didn't hate him, then accusing him of being bad again, and specifically emphasizing the good work of his colleague Ellen. Chat, on the other hand, backed David up by arguing that he was doing exactly the work one would expect for $2 an hour.^[5]

After hard work, he was able to appease his boss (Jerma) and was subsequently renamed: Jerma then called him Do-Darryl (nicknamed Darryl), admitting he couldn't even remember his previous name.^[6]
