Gerrard, Guardian of the Treasure Chest of the Mayan Temple (also known as "Garon" and "Gerald" and "Hero", due to some mishearing his name) is a hero who acts as the sole guardian of the Mayan Treasure. He appeared in both installments of the Rat Movie franchise.

Description

Appearance

Gerrard is clad from head to toe in a gold and white suit of armor. His helmet has a red plume coming out of the back, and he wields an axe-like polearm. It is unknown if he is a man wearing the suit of armor, if he is actually just the suit of armor itself.

Personality

Gerrard is a noble soul who takes his duties very seriously, even willing to sacrifice himself for the greater good. He has a tendency to be dramatic, often making monologues or talking too much before he can do anything.

Abilities

Gerrard is presumably fairly powerful, being the sole protector of the Mayan Treasure. He wields a long axe, and the armor he wears seems to be very durable. However, he was helpless to fight the overwhelming strength of the Giant Rat, though he did survive the attack. He also didn't do much to stop the Cat Police's true form, though he did manage to slow it down long enough for the Giant Rat to get away.

Gerrard was first seen standing idly inside the café, posing as an antique set of armor as he guarded the entrance to the location of the Mayan Treasure. When Dick "Dastardly" Richard and his gang entered the treasure room, Gerrard followed to confront them. However, before he was able to do anything to the thieves, he was picked up by the Giant Rat and thrown into a pit.

Gerrard is seen once again in the sequel, having evidently survived his fall. Once the Rats learned of the Cat Police's evil plans, they rushed to tell Gerrard and get his help stopping them. He appeared to help the Giant Rat during his confrontation with the Cat Police, holding the true Noah's Ark Toothbrush in hand, but was hit and carried off by a low-flying airplane, dropping the toothbrush. After the Cat Police transformed into their skeleton form and began chasing the Giant Rat, Gerrard returned on a rocket ship and began fighting the monster off so the Giant Rat could escape with the Noah's Ark Toothbrush. He managed to keep the skeleton at bay long enough for the Giant Rat to successfully destroy the toothbrush.

Trivia

• Gerrard is based on the 3D Movie Maker actor Henry.
• Jerma has stated that Gerrard was originally planned to be in Jerma Rumble - Live Action, but he couldn't find a suit of armor that made it funny enough without spending like $700. A similar situation occurred with Otto.
