- ―Opening lines
Otto's Big Adventure 2: The Great Cookie Mystery is a 2012 live-action movie directed and produced by Franco Lee Rai. It is a sequel to Otto's Big Adventure: A Dog's Day Out!.
Plot[]
Otto opens the movie by introducing himself and his friends, Boo-Boo, Moose, and Molly, the latter two of which are a couple.
The dogs start munching down on some cookies, which Boo-Boo describes as "the best cookies I've ever eaten in my entire life".
After eating their cookies, Otto and his friends head outside to play in the snow. Otto expresses confusion at the existence of a leaf, and Boo-Boo tucks in to some tasty snow.
Upon re-entering the house, the dogs discover that the remaining cookies have been stolen, and so embark on a quest to recover them and find the culprit. Otto searches the surrounding area as Boo-Boo admits to having taken a shit inside the house.
The movie ends without the cookie culprit being identified.
Production and Release[]
Franco Lee Rai received the first script for the movie from Burgah Boy, and cited it as a masterpiece. A conflict of interest emerged between the movie studio and Franco's creative team, which meant Franco could not make the changes he felt were necessary. The movie was written to highlight the struggles of the everyday man, and make a metaphor towards the beginning of a new life. Despite the aforementioned conflicts of interest between teams, Franco stated the movie achieved exactly what he wanted it to.
The movie was published to YouTube on December 31, 2012, where it received largely positive reception. Fans of the series expressed interest in a third installment, but to this day, no plans for a third movie have ever been confirmed.
